Client responsibilities

It is the client's responsibility to give their dog/s the    opportunity to go to the toilet before entering our salon.

It is also the client's responsibility to make known to us any   changes in their dog's health condition and temperament upon arrival.

Matts

Matting is considered any tangling, sticking, clumping, the presence of foreign matter in a dog's coat, or excessive undercoat that takes an extended effort and time to remove. Matts are usually present under legs, around the neck. To test for presence of any matting on your dog, run a metal comb through the coat of your dog from the skin. Any tangles or clumping you find is considered matting.

Since matting takes longer to remove and must be done prior to bathing, dematting charges apply and are added to the price of the base groom.

Note: contrary to dematting and styling requests by the owner, our first concern is for the comfort and well being of your dog. We always put humanity before vanity.

Muzzling

If your dog exhibits biting or nipping it may be muzzled to protect itself, as well as our staff. Muzzling is necessary to protect the welfare of everyone involved.

Note: since safety is our main concern, please advise us if you are aware that your dog may require muzzling when you make your appointment.

Payment

All payments are to be made at the time of collecting your dog/s.

We accept cash, Eftpos, Mastercard, Visa and American Express as methods of payment. .

Note: all credit cards will encure an additional service fee of $2.20.

Any missed appointments without a courtesy call will incur a $40.00 fee. We are more than happy to reschedule or cancel appointments if you are unable to attend.

Pricing

Prices quoted are estimates only.

We can give you a rough estimate however we must take into consideration the length of your dogs coat, it's overall coat condition, the time required to groom your dog and the disposition of your dog during the grooming process.

Note: matted, excessively dirty, muzzling required dogs and dogs with flea's will acquire additional charges due to the extra time, product, TLC and skill level required for a professional finish.

Prices and policies are subject to change without notice.

Priority grooming

Time poor? Need your dog back for that special occasion? Or is your dog sensitive requiring first class priority treatment? Allow us to put your mind at ease and take the pressure out of your day with our priority grooming service. We will ensure your dog will be ready WITHIN 1-2 hours and on completion will contact you by phone.

Note: an additional charge will apply and requests for this service MUST be done while making the appointment.

Sitting with your dog

Many clients believe sitting with their dog at the groomer helps alleviate stress, and that they can "help" the groomer with any behavior issues. Unfortunately, this is quite the opposite. When owners are near their dog, their dog wants to get to them instead of sitting quietly for their groom. For this reason, along with insurance concerns, Wagging Tails does not allow any sit-ins. If your dog has behavior or anxiety issues, please discuss them with us when you make your appointment.

Note: you may wish to elect for priority grooming.

Toileting your dog

For the comfort of your dog, can you please ensure they are given the opportunity to stretch their legs and have a ‘toilet opportunity’ before they enter the salon. Both we and your dog would appreciate this simple but important courtesy. For the courtesy of fellow clients, other patrons to local businesses and to us, can you please ensure you also clean up after your dog.

Note: there is an on-leash enclosed park on Queen Street, less than a 60 second walk from the salon. If your dog is not given the opportunity to toilet and toilets in the salon upon arrival clean-up fees will apply.
